Planned protests against Tesla and its CEO Elon Musk have prompted warnings from officials about potential domestic terrorism.
Attorney General Pam Bondi urged Rep. Jasmine Crockett to “tread very carefully” after the Texas Democrat’s comments during a ‘Tesla Takedown’ virtual rally.
“She is an elected public official, so she needs to tread very carefully because nothing will happen to Elon Musk, and we’re going to fight to protect all of the Tesla owners throughout this country,” Bondi stated in an interview with Fox News.

The ‘Tesla Takedown’ movement plans over 500 demonstrations on March 29 at Tesla showrooms worldwide. NYC Organizer Alice Hu explained, “We need to show Elon that he can’t throw a tantrum online because his stocks are tanking.”
Rep. Crockett, whose birthday coincides with the protests, said, “On March 29, it’s my birthday, and all I want to see happen on my birthday is for Elon to be taken down.” She later clarified her statements were metaphorical, emphasizing nonviolent protests.
🚨Crockett: “All I want to see happen on my birthday is for Elon to be taken down. Yes!!!”
Cusack: “Everybody should really enjoy taking this guy down and the stock down.”
Winter: “Tesla is permanently tarnished the moment Musk gave that Nazi salute”

The protests come amid increasing anti-Musk sentiment, with some incidents involving vandalism and arson against Tesla properties. Three individuals have been charged with federal crimes for attacking Tesla vehicles and charging stations, facing up to 20 years in prison.
Bondi described these incidents as “domestic terrorism,” stating, “We are not backing down from these charges… These are severe and swift consequences.”
Political reactions have been strong, with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene accusing Crockett of organizing “political violence and terrorism.” Senator Ted Cruz expressed concern that the escalating rhetoric could lead to violence.
As the planned protests approach, authorities remain vigilant about potential security threats, while organizers maintain their focus on nonviolent demonstrations against Musk’s influence and political activities.
