Pizza chains are turning the viral slang “67” into dollar signs this week, rolling out limited-time deals that play off Dictionary.com’s newly crowned 2025 Word of the Year.
Domino’s launched a large one-topping pizza for $6.70 with online carryout orders through November 16 when customers enter the code “67.”
“‘Six seeeven!’ — it’s a phrase that has captivated kids, perplexed parents, and frustrated teachers across the country. What does it mean? Apparently nothing, but Domino’s is here to change that!” the chain said in a statement to MassLive. “We’re bringing some pizza, levity, and value to the trend that is taking Gen Z and Gen Alpha by storm.”
Pizza Hut countered with 67-cent wings on Thursday and Friday only. The deal covers boneless wings in any of the chain’s nine signature sauces or rubs. When ordering online, enter promo code “SIXSEVEN” before checkout.
The promotions piggyback on a term that exploded after rapper Skrilla’s song “Doot Doot (6 7)” and countless TikTok videos, including clips of basketball players and the viral “67 Kid.” According to Dictionary.com, searches for the phrase have surged more than sixfold since June.
Though its exact meaning remains murky — sometimes signaling “so-so,” sometimes just a way to annoy adults — the digital dictionary noted the word is never pronounced “sixty-seven” and often accompanies a hand gesture of palms facing up and alternating up and down.
