Showers and thunderstorms are expected to impact North Texas beginning Thursday.
Heavy thunderstorms are likely to develop later in the day, primarily affecting areas west of the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metroplex, according to NBC 5.
“Showers and thunderstorms will return today and will continue into the weekend. Much of North and Central Texas is expected to receive 1 to 2 inches of rain over the next few days. Isolated areas (with about 10% coverage) could see totals of 3 to 4 inches, leading to minor flooding, particularly west of I-35 and north of I-20,” reports the National Weather Service.
Temperatures will remain in the low 70s, with a higher likelihood of showers and thunderstorms on Friday. The metroplex could receive up to 1 inch of rain, with up to 2 inches possible further west.
The metroplex is under a LEVEL 1 Marginal Risk for severe thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday, according to NBC 5. Rain is expected to taper off on Saturday, with Sunday likely to be dry, as reported by The Dallas Morning News.
On Friday, there is an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from a low of 63°F to a high of 71°F, with winds between 10-15 mph, reported NBC 5.
Saturday’s temperatures will range from a low of 54°F to a high of 68°F, with winds at 5-10 mph.
Sunday will be sunny and mild, with temperatures ranging from a low of 52°F to a high of 73°F and winds at 5-10 mph.
