The weather in North Texas will be cool and fairly pleasant this week, but holiday travelers journeying to other parts of the U.S. can expect delays and possible disruptions as wintry weather impacts roads and flight schedules.

A Pacific storm moving into Northern California will bring multiple feet of snow to the Sierra Nevada on Tuesday night and in the Rockies and High Plains areas on Wednesday, according to AccuWeather.

As the storm tracks eastward, it will pick up moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. How this will affect states in the East is still uncertain, as it depends on how much the storm strengthens on its way.

If the storm strengthens significantly, it will track further north and bring accumulating snow to the Midwest and Great Lakes region. A somewhat weaker storm will track more eastward with rain and little snow. At this time, forecasters say that snow is most likely along the I-70 to I-80 corridor in the Midwest and northern New England area.

States south of the Ohio River are more likely to see rain.

The more southern states, including Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, could experience severe thunderstorms on Wednesday night and Thursday. These could bring damaging wind gusts, heavy rain, and the possibility of dense fog and tornadoes.

Travelers should stay weather-aware and check frequently for updates on the weather and their scheduled travel plans.

North Texas will miss most of the harsh effects of this storm system, and no precipitation is anticipated to fall in the region over the next seven days.

The weather will be mostly sunny and cool, with gusty winds present Monday through Thursday, per Fox 4 KDFW. However, daily temperatures will vary widely over the next several days.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday’s high will reach about 65 degrees in the early afternoon before falling back into the low 50s in the evening, with an overnight low of around 39 degrees. However, humidity levels and wind chill factors will cause temperatures to feel about 4 to 5 degrees cooler, per AccuWeather.

Tuesday will be sunny with a high near 61 degrees, and the overnight low will fall to about 52 degrees.

Wednesday will also be mostly sunny, with temperatures soaring to nearly 80 degrees before dipping into the mid-40s overnight.

Thanksgiving Day will be partly sunny with a high of only about 55 degrees, and overnight lows will dip close to about 34 degrees. Friday will be similar, with a predicted high of about 55 degrees and an overnight low of about 40 degrees.
