JackO’Lynn Page, a Texas woman who feared she had lost her 1910 heirloom wedding ring forever in Possum Kingdom Lake, was reunited with it after a diver recovered the diamond.

Page shared her ordeal on Facebook, explaining she was at the Sandy Beach area of the lake with her son’s baseball team on Friday when she realized her ring was gone.

“I was heartbroken,” she said.

The team, parents, and grandparents searched with goggles but found nothing.

“Picture 11 baseball boys with goggles, moms, dads grandparents everyone was looking! But no luck,” Page wrote.

A father suggested contacting a professional, leading to Ryan Prigmore of Blue Diver Search and Recovery. Prigmore searched for hours on Friday but was hindered by rough water and high winds.

“I was getting thrashed by the waves, but I gave my word that I would be back to keep trying,” he said, Fox 4 KDFW reported

He returned on Monday, when conditions were calmer, and found the ring in a 100-foot by 50-foot area.

“He kept his word,” Page wrote, posting a photo of the recovered ring. “I am so thankful for him! He didn’t give up on it. I had been preparing myself for the last few days that it was lost and I wouldn’t see it again. My ring is so special to me. And I had no idea how I’d get over this. I’m over the moon knowing it’s coming home to me!!”

Possum Kingdom Lake, a manmade reservoir created in 1941 with over 17,000 surface acres, posed a challenge for the search. Blue Diver Search and Recovery, which describes itself as Texas’ only 24-hour dive service, previously recovered a Rolex at Eagle Mountain Lake in May 2022.
