Cedrick Frazier is now serving comforting Southern food at his new venue in Red Oak.

The chef, who has a storied three-decade culinary career including cooking for celebrities and political figures, opened The Cedric Frazier Experience at 103 Waller St. on June 7.

Frazier’s roots go back to the Lowcountry region of South Carolina, where he honed his culinary skills from the women in his family. Frazier eventually pursued a formal education at Honson and Wales University and embarked on a busy career in food and hospitality.

While the new establishment is predominantly a to-go restaurant, open Thursday through Sunday, limited seating is available for those who cannot wait to dig into Frazier’s cuisine. The space is also available for hosting small events.

“It will serve as a full-service catering kitchen, as well as a boutique café that offers to-go and limited dine-in options. While the catering side is by appointment or event-based booking, the café will be open to the public during specific hours. No reservations needed,” said Frazier, per CultureMap Dallas.

According to Frazier, patrons can expect “elevated comfort food.” Items will include favorites like wings, pasta, and fried fish. Sunday will bring a special menu featuring dishes like oxtail, fried chicken, collard greens, candied yams, cornbread, and other Southern fare.

“Launching my own brand allowed me to bring all of my experience together — pairing high-level service with heartfelt, soulful cuisine,” said Frazier.

“Every plate I create carries pieces of my heritage, my training, and my passion for connecting with people through food.”
