The NTSB is investigating plane crash that occurred Thursday morning in Mckinney, Texas.
A small twin-engine Cessna crashed into a large mound of dirt shortly after departing McKinney National Airport.
Here is some of what Frank Heinz reported on the crash for NBC 5 DFW:
The crash was reported around 10:30 a.m. in the area of County Road 317, which is just south of the airport.
Three people were onboard the plane, according to the DPS. Two occupants were pronounced dead on the scene and another was transported to Parkland Hospital in Dallas. DPS did not immediately release the condition of the injured occupant.
Matthew Dildine tells WFAA he was working on a tractor when the plane came crashing down. It happened more than a few hundred yards from him. He instantly knew something was wrong when it flew so low to the ground compared to all the other planes that flew overhead.
“It was not going at the right speed. It looked like there were no engines running. It was more of a fall than a flight,” said Dildine. “It’s rough to look at…you hope for the best,” he said.
