Drivers heading south on the Dallas North Tollway should find alternate routes on Friday night and early Saturday morning, as all lanes will close between Stonebrook Parkway and Warren Parkway. The closure begins at 11:59 p.m. Friday and reopens by 8 a.m. Saturday.
The overnight shutdown is part of NTTA’s ongoing widening project along the heavily traveled corridor. Weekend closures have become routine as crews race to expand capacity.
Two entrance ramps will also be blocked during the work. The southbound Stonebrook Parkway ramp closes with the main lanes, while the John Hickman Parkway entrance shuts earlier at 8 p.m.
Southbound traffic must exit at Stonebrook Parkway and follow the Dallas Parkway frontage road. Drivers can re-enter the tollway at the ramp south of Gaylord Parkway.
The DNT widening project aims to ease congestion through Frisco and neighboring cities. Construction has caused traffic congestion for months, resulting in regular lane closures.
Officials urge drivers to use navigation apps like Waze to find real-time alternate routes. Those traveling through the work zone should reduce speed and stay alert.
