Blue Bell Creameries has introduced a new flavor inspired by Texas’ official state pie and is teaming up with a high-tech delivery service to share it with Dallas-Fort Worth residents.
Classic Pecan Pie Ice Cream is now available in stores. The treat blends brown sugar ice cream with roasted pecans, pie crust pieces, and pecan pie filling. The flavor is offered in half-gallon and pint sizes for a limited time.
“Our new flavor combines your favorite ice cream with everything you enjoy in a pecan pie,” said John Neal Robinson, general sales manager for Blue Bell.
“Pecans, pie crust pieces, and yes, even a pecan pie filling swirl, all surrounded by a brown sugar ice cream – did we miss anything? There is no need for pie and ice cream when you can now have both in a carton of our Classic Pecan Pie Ice Cream,” added Robinson.
Robinson explained that the flavor reflects both Blue Bell’s Texas roots and the tradition of pecan pie.
“At Blue Bell, we know how to make great-tasting ice cream. And being a Texas-based company, we understand what it takes to be a prize-winning pecan pie. Our Classic Pecan Pie is sure to become your new favorite dessert,” he said.
To promote the release, Blue Bell partnered with Wing, Alphabet’s drone delivery division, and Walmart. Eligible customers across the Dallas-Fort Worth area can request a free pint through October 5 using the Wing app.
Wing’s service ties to 14 Walmart stores across the metroplex. Locations include Frisco, Lewisville, Little Elm, and North Richland Hills. Deliveries arrive in as little as 30 minutes, with actual flight times under five minutes.
There are no delivery fees, tips, or minimum purchase requirements.
