Tara Davis-Woodhall, a native of Mesquite, Texas, has reached the pinnacle of athletic success by winning a gold medal in the long jump at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The “She’s Got More” event was held in collaboration with Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas, Powerade, and Girls Inc.’s broader mission to empower young women.
The initiative aims to help girls develop key life skills like teamwork, leadership, and resilience. Davis-Woodhall resonates deeply with these themes and attributes much of her success to these principles.
Addressing a room filled with eager high school girls, she emphasized that believing in oneself and persevering through challenges are critical to achieving goals. “It’s honestly inspiring and inspires me to keep doing what I am doing,” Davis-Woodhall said. “It just means more for sure.”
During the event, members of Girls Inc. served as moderators, facilitating an engaging conversation between Davis-Woodhall and the students.
“What I love most is the energy from the girls in the crowd and how willing they were to participate and listen to my story. It was really special,” Davis-Woodhall said, according to NBC DFW.
