Dallas is set to welcome the world premiere of the new interactive Minecraft game experience.

The immersive event, ‘Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue,’ will combine gaming with a scavenger hunt and will kick off in Plano on October 18 at the former Best Buy Baby location at 2712 N. Central Expwy.

Despite being released 13 years ago, Minecraft has sustained a massive fan following of players who regularly enjoy the game. As of 2024, the game sees over 166 million monthly active users. In comparison, X, formerly Twitter, has 586 million monthly users.

In other words, Minecraft is a big deal.

In the exhibit, visitors will be given “the orb of interaction.” With it, “you engage with the world around you by breaking blocks, damaging hostile mobs, collecting resources, and more. It vibrates, lights up, and changes color depending on the action and context to guide you and further immerse you in the vibrant Minecraft world,” reads the event’s website.

As part of the exhibit, participants will be asked to participate in a rescue mission with other team members. Traveling through different Minecraft biomes, you and your team will build structures while interacting with mobs, the AI-driven creatures found in the game.

Whether you’re a seasoned Minecraft player or a novice, you can join the fun. According to the organizers, no prior experience with Minecraft is necessary to enjoy the exhibit.

As a bonus, attendees to the event will receive a code to obtain a commemorative, half-zombie, half-villager cape that can be with their in-game character in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.

Minecraft Experience: Village Rescue runs until early January 2025, and tickets are available in advance on the event’s website. General admission costs $32 on weekdays and $42 on weekends and holidays. VIP tickets start at $65. Friends & Family Multipack and Large Group discount tickets are also available.
