Dungeons & Dragons fans will have a whole new way to experience their favorite fantasy game when a new D&D experience opens in Plano this fall.
Known as Dungeons & Dragons: The Immersive Quest, the 16,000-square-foot exhibit is set to open on October 15 at 2712 Central Expressway. Fans can expect an interactive experience that transports them into the popular fantasy world.
“Be a hero. Join the quest and save the realms,” reads a description on the exhibit’s website. “Embark on a unique heroic fantasy quest in the world of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, where thrills and magic meet. After accepting an unexpected quest, face challenges and encounter iconic creatures in this meticulously crafted immersive experience.”
First, you have to choose whether you will be a rogue, a druid, a fighter, or a wizard. Once selected, you begin a self-directed journey at the Yawning Portal Tavern, where your adventure kicks off.
“Explore a mysterious dungeon, encounter iconic creatures, and overcome challenges to earn experience points, before ultimately engaging in an epic confrontation,” the website reads.
Once complete, you can compare your experience points at the Waterdeep Market while enjoying D&D-themed food and drinks.
The innovative new experience is being brought to North Texas by Vibrant Studios, a division of Toronto-based Vibrant Marketing, under licence from Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast. When the attraction first launched in Toronto last year, it drew more than 30,000 visitors in its first three months.
“Our goal with this experience is to bring the magic of Dungeons & Dragons to life like never before,” said Eric Brouillet, president and founder of Vibrant Marketing, in a recent announcement. “Every element has been thoughtfully designed for authenticity, immersing both longtime fans and first-timers into the rich and dynamic world of D&D. This is an epic adventure for the whole family.”
The entire all-ages experience lasts approximately an hour, with pre-sales opening on September 2. General admission tickets start at $35 and will be available on September 3. The exhibit runs Wednesday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
