Frisco residents can double their spending power at Rail District businesses starting Tuesday morning through a new digital gift card program that matches every dollar spent up to $250.

The initiative, launching at 10 a.m. on November 4, offers a “Buy One, Get One” deal where purchasing a gift card automatically generates a bonus card of equal value.

The program aims to boost traffic to Rail District businesses that have endured 18 months of construction disruptions. The Frisco Community Development Corporation allocated $300,000 for the gift card initiative, part of a larger $500,000 support package for the area.

“The Frisco Community Development Corporation is proud to invest local sales tax dollars back into the community through programs that directly benefit our small businesses,” said Chad Brubaker, Chairman of FCDC. “By moving the Rail District gift card program to a digital format, we’re expanding access for residents across the city…”

Here’s the breakdown: Buy a $25 gift card, receive a $25 bonus card. The purchased gift card never expires, while the bonus card must be used by January 31, 2026.

The FCDC covers all gift card fees. Participating merchants are responsible for their own processing costs.

Previous phases of the program generated $173,550 in redeemed cards. Phase I saw $170,700 worth of redemptions, while Phase II has reached $2,850 so far.

“Our goal is to drive renewed traffic and energy into the Rail District, supporting business owners who have weathered significant construction impacts over the past 18 months,” Brubaker said. “This new format also empowers businesses to promote the program directly to their own customer base through social media….”

Main Street reconstruction through the historic Rail District began in July 2024. The project is expected to wrap up by year’s end.

Gift cards range from $25 to $250 and are available while FCDC funding lasts. Interested buyers can purchase cards through the program’s dedicated online portal.
