A 27-year-old man was arrested after a SWAT standoff at a Frisco residence, prompting some Grayhawk residents to raise concerns about crime in the neighborhood.
Cameron Theus was taken into custody Tuesday following a police standoff at a home on Stevens Point Drive. He was charged with making a terroristic threat.
Police have not released details about what led to the standoff or the specific allegations underlying the charge.
Theus Has Several Previous Arrests
Tuesday’s arrest marks the third time Theus has been arrested in 2026, according to police records cited in the report.
On August 21, police arrested him on a criminal mischief charge. Police said he followed a woman to a nearby middle school, began screaming, and struck several vehicles, knocking a side mirror off the vehicle belonging to the woman he had followed.
Theus was also arrested in February on an assault charge. His previous arrests include a 2022 credit card abuse case and a 2018 resisting arrest case. The charges and allegations in those cases do not establish guilt unless proven in court.
Residents Say Crime Has Increased
The standoff has renewed concerns among some residents who say Grayhawk has experienced more crime in recent years.
Kevin Raper, who has lived in the neighborhood for 22 years, said the area has traditionally been considered a safe part of Frisco.
“Frisco’s a pretty safe area, so you don’t expect that sort of thing,” Raper said, per Fox 4 KDFW.
Raper also expressed concern that unresolved incidents could escalate.
“These things tend to escalate,” he said.
Teen Stabbing Remains Unsolved
Residents also pointed to a 2025 stabbing involving a teenager as an example of an unresolved crime in the neighborhood. The teenager was stabbed by an unknown suspect last summer while walking his dog. Frisco police have not provided a public update on the status of that investigation.
The stabbing and the recent SWAT standoff are separate incidents, and there is no indication at this time that they are connected.
Theus remains in custody on the terroristic threat charge as the case proceeds.
