The Town of Prosper Fire Department responded to a call of a “possible drowning” at 3:30 p.m. on July 7. Responders launched a “coordinated search effort” with help from the Prosper Police Department, the Lewisville Fire Department, and Frisco Police and Fire Departments.

Responders, with help from a Lewisville Fire Rescue dive team, found the boy’s body close to 8 p.m., said Prosper Director of Communications Todd Rice to The Dallas Express

“A 15-year-old male was located during the search and pronounced deceased at the scene,” the release reads.

Officials will not release further information out of “respect for the family’s privacy.” Rice said he could not provide any “additional details or statements,” since this is an ongoing investigation.
