Emergency crews launched a dramatic rescue operation Wednesday afternoon after a tow truck crashed and dangled over an overpass near Highway 121, also known as the Sam Rayburn Tollway, at Hardin Boulevard.

McKinney Fire Department units, alongside other first responders, worked to stabilize the vehicle and extract anyone trapped inside. Video footage showed firefighters surrounding the truck, which teetered off the bridge’s edge.

The North Texas Tollway Authority reported all southbound lanes of the tollway at Hardin Boulevard were closed due to the incident, with two northbound lanes also shut down.

Officials urged drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes, warning of significant delays. Officials have not announced whether there were any injuries or fatalities in connection with the incident.
