Trader Joe’s, a California-based specialty grocery chain, opened its first location in the metroplex in eight years on Wednesday.

The newest store in Coppell is the 20th Trader Joe’s to open in the Lone Star State.

“Inside this neighborhood grocery store, customers will find outstanding value in the form of the best quality products at the best everyday prices,” read a company statement, per the Crossing Timbers Gazette.

The 11,500-square-foot location at 120 S. Denton Tap Rd. will employ roughly 45 new crew members. As of opening day, Trade Joe’s was still accepting applications on its website.

Trader Joe’s is well-known for stocking popular items that attract an almost cult-like following. With the new location in Coppell, residents in the area will now be near these fan-favorite products.

Here are five items to keep an eye out for:

  • Peanut Butter Brookie: This dessert combines two great treats: brownies and chocolate chip cookies. At 150 calories a piece, they are not necessarily light, but they are delicious.
  • Organic Sriracha & Roasted Garlic BBQ Sauce: Looking for something unique for your next BBQ? This BBQ sauce could be your ticket to leveling up your next pork shoulder.
  • Steamed Pork and Ginger Soup Dumplings: Trader Joe’s proves that some dishes, like pork dumplings, are best left to the professionals. Next time you visit, consider picking up a box for your freezer.
  • Everything But The Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend: This versatile seasoning is a favorite of many Trader Joe’s veterans. From scrambled eggs to baked potatoes, this blend of sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried garlic, dried onion, and sea salt flakes is a simple but powerful complement to countless dishes.
  • Wine: This list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning wine. From Revelation Cabernet Merlot to Rancho Viejo Riserva, do not be surprised if your new favorite vino ends up being a discount brand from Trader Joe’s.

Trader Joe’s already manages multiple locations in North Texas, including five stores in Dallas alone. Its first foray into DFW was over a decade ago, in 2012, when it opened a location in Fort Worth.

Patrons of the new store can expect ties to the community, with artwork focused on local landmarks like Coppell High School, Bethel Road, the city’s water tower, and the historic railroad depot. The company will also implement its Neighborhood Shares Program at the Coppell location, donating 100% of unspoiled and unused products to various local non-profits each day.

The new Trader Joe’s Coppell location is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
