As spring inches closer to summer, the metroplex is beginning to feel the heat.
Heat index values will rise above their 90-degree temperature highs for Monday and Tuesday. Humidity will reach 69% by Monday evening and is expected to increase to the 80% range for the remainder of the week.
On Monday, the high will be 91 and the low will be 75. Tuesday will have similar temperatures, with a high of 90 and a low of 77. Wednesday’s high temperatures will hover just below 90, with a low of 71. Thursday will be the coolest day of the week, with a high of 79 and a low of 71. However, we will move into the weekend with temperatures peaking in the 90s again, with Friday’s high at 91 and a low at 73.
The likelihood of rain is currently 50% on Wednesday. It is highest on Thursday at 97%, decreasing to 53% on Friday and dipping further into the weekend.
The ERCOT issued a statement indicating that there could be restricted reserve capacity from May 20 to May 22 as power generators undergo planned maintenance during a period of anticipated high demand due to increased temperatures, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.
