In a historic victory, David Lowe defeated longtime incumbent Rep. Stephanie Klick in the Republican primary runoff election for Texas House District 91.

Lowe, a stay-at-home dad, received 56.58% of the vote, while Klick (R-Fort Worth) received 43.42%, reported the Fort Worth Report.

Klick received endorsements from Gov. Greg Abbott, state House Speaker Dade Phelan, and former governor and energy secretary Rick Perry.

Lowe received endorsements from Attorney General Ken Paxton, outgoing Texas GOP Chair Matt Rinaldi, and former Texas senator Don Huffines, reported FWR.

“David Lowe is a conservative fighter who will fight to defend our children and stand up against radical Democrats. Stephanie Klick has refused to aggressively fight Democrats, has killed conservative policy in her role as a chairman and is a staunch loyalist to liberal Dade Phelan, who even President Trump called on to resign. It’s time to elect David Lowe,” Paxton said, per Lowe’s website.

Klick outraised Lowe by more than $600,000 in campaign funding.

“The conservative voters of District 91 made their voice heard. They don’t want to vote for Republicans that hold the pockets of Democrats,” Lowe told The Dallas Express.

Lowe posted a statement on X thanking his supporters:

“I want to thank each and every one of you for your unwavering support, your tireless efforts, and your dedication to our fight for the future of Texas.

“This win is not just mine; it belongs to each and every one of you who stood by my side, supported my campaign, and believed in our vision for a better Texas.”

This was the second time that Lowe and Klick had a face-off. Klick won the 2022 Republican primary race with 54% of the vote, according to FWR.

Lowe will represent Richland Hills, North Richland Hills, Haltom City, Watauga, and parts of Fort Worth.
