Northbound lanes on the Dallas Parkway frontage road in Frisco will remain closed through November 3 as construction crews complete paving work on a widened bridge.
The closure, which began at 8 p.m. on Monday, affects the stretch between Stonebrook Parkway and the Cotton Gin ramp. The week-long shutdown forces thousands of daily commuters to navigate detours during morning and evening rush hours.
City officials expect the road to reopen by 5 p.m. on Monday, November 3.
Local traffic heading to Genesis Court can still access the northbound frontage road at Stonebrook Parkway. All other vehicles must turn left and use Legacy Drive and Cotton Gin Road to bypass the construction zone.
The closure at Genesis Court presents an additional challenge for drivers. Those who mistakenly enter this dead-end street must turn around and return to Stonebrook Parkway.
Transportation officials have implemented temporary two-way traffic between the railroad tracks and Genesis Court. This arrangement allows vehicles exiting Genesis Court to navigate the construction area.
The bridge widening represents part of the larger improvements along the Dallas North Tollway corridor. City officials urge drivers to plan alternate routes and use navigation apps like Waze to avoid delays.
Detour signs will guide motorists around the closure areas. Construction crews have accelerated their schedule to minimize traffic disruptions during the busy workweek ahead.
“City traffic and transportation engineers monitor road-ways and traffic patterns from the Emergency Operations Center (EOC),” city officials said in a project update. “The engineers are able to adjust signals and keep traffic flowing with innovative technology in the command center.”
