Dallas investment firm Big Sky Medical has acquired real estate leased by Baylor Scott & White in North Texas.

Built in 2004, The Heart Hospital of Denton was renovated in 2013, according to a news release. The 68,740-square-foot property includes a cardiac rehabilitation facility, outpatient clinic, and sleep center.

“Big Sky appreciates being selected by Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital to buy this asset, and we look forward to expanding our footprint with them,” Big Sky CEO Jason Signor said in the release.

Founded in 2020, the company invests in commercial real estate across the U.S. “with an overweight focus on the medical office sector.”

“Big Sky is pleased to conclude 2023 with the acquisition of the real estate leased to Baylor Heart Hospital of Denton,” said Harrison Horowitz, senior manager-transactions. “We are grateful for the relationship with Baylor and the opportunity to add this high-quality asset to our portfolio.”

A non-profit healthcare system, Baylor Scott & White Health includes more than 50 hospitals, 800 clinics, and 49,000 employees. In July, the company announced that 26 of its hospitals were recognized by U.S. News & World Report — more than any other nonprofit health system in Texas.

“This recognition affirms our commitment to excellence in delivering safe, high-quality, customer-centric care,” CEO Pete McCanna said in the announcement. “Across our health system, our teams are dedicated to making an impact and helping those we serve live well.”

For 2023-24, all of the health system’s academic medical centers were ranked among the top ten “Best Hospitals in Texas.” They are Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, and Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth. Also, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Irving was listed among the Dallas-Fort Worth region’s top hospitals.
