Dallas native Jamillah DeGroat and her husband, Kyle, have opened a Smoothie King franchise on the city’s northeast side.
“Kyle and I started focusing on our health and fitness by replacing a meal with a smoothie from Smoothie King for a year,” she said in a press release. “We both experienced a mental and physical transformation, so when we started considering our first franchise opportunity, Smoothie King’s nutritious menu offerings and business concept were in alignment with our core values and beliefs.”
The couple will celebrate the new location with a grand opening on January 20.
“I am both thrilled and honored to start our Smoothie King franchise journey in Dallas where we can provide wholesome menu options for our family, friends, and the overall community,” Kyle said. “As new parents, we are excited about building a legacy that will have a lasting impact for many generations.”
The company offers smoothies made with whole fruit and organic vegetables.
The first 50 guests at the grand opening will receive free enhancers, and they and others will have the opportunity to win a year of free smoothies, according to the press release. A percentage of proceeds made that day will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. at 7718 Forest Ln. Store hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Based in Coppell, Smoothie King operates more than 1,300 restaurants across the world, including 12 in Dallas. Last year, it celebrated its 50th anniversary.
