Creepy-crawly enthusiasts of all ages will gather at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie on April 25 for the city’s annual Bug Fest, a hands-on celebration of the insect world that blends outdoor adventure with discovery.

The event, set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. along the park’s scenic waterfront at 5610 Lake Ridge Parkway, offers interactive exhibits, live demonstrations, and opportunities to meet insect experts and get up close with creatures described as “equal parts creepy and captivating.”

Visitors can explore the Bug Barn, which features museums, naturalists, and entomology experts. The city called it “a hands-on, high-energy experience perfect for all ages” and said it is ideal for families, nature lovers, and “anyone looking for something unexpected to do.”

Attendees can nosh like a hungry caterpillar at the Grub Hub, which will offer frozen treats, fried pickles, potato swirls, and more. They can also shop for unique bug-themed goods, including lemonade, fidget toys, crochet bug plushies, and other items.

Bug Fest will feature educational displays, themed activities, and vendors in addition to the live insect encounters. Organizers said the waterfront setting provides a natural backdrop for the day’s outdoor exploration and learning.

Admission is free for Grand Prairie residents and $20 for non-residents. Organizers urged visitors not to miss “this un-bee-lievable day of fun, food, and fascinating bugs!”
