Republican candidates in Collin County swept all categories of bi-partisan races on the ballot on Election Day.
In the Presidential race, 54% of Collin County voters cast their ballots for Republican Donald Trump, compared to 43% for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, reported NBC 5 DFW.
Incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz beat out Democratic contender Colin Allred with 52% of the votes, compared to Allred’s 46%.
In the county races on the ballot, Darrell Hale (R) beat Yvette Johnson (D) with a whopping 61% of the votes, compared to Johnson’s 39%, for Collin County Commissioner Precinct 3.
In the Collin County Tax Assessor-Collector race, Scott Grigg (R) won 59% of the votes, overtaking Stephanie Cooksey (D), who had 41%.
Sammy Knapp (R) won 55% of the votes for Collin County Constable Precinct 3, compared to Cesar Avila (D), who garnered 45%.
In local city government, where nonpartisan positions were on the ballot, Princeton had two city council spots up for grabs.
Terrance Johnson won over David Kleiber for Princeton City Council—Seat 1 with 54% of the votes. Christina Todd beat Marlo Obera for City Council—Seat 2 with 52% of the votes.
Princeton residents supported incumbent Mayor Brianna Chacon, who received 41% of the votes, besting four challengers for the city’s top spot. The next closest challenger was Eugene Escobar Jr., who won 27% of the votes.
Other noteworthy results include four propositions for Rockwall ISD, including one to modify the tax rate to increase revenue for teacher and staff salaries. Voters shot down each of the four propositions.
