When a large group of teenagers gathered in Lucas over the weekend, neighbors reported gunfire, underage drinking, and trespassing. Now, the Collin County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Mark Drive around 10 p.m. on October 11, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office. Witnesses told 911 dispatchers about a “large juvenile gathering” that grew significantly in size, creating noise complaints and reports of people crossing onto nearby properties.

“As deputies responded, the call was elevated when additional 911 calls reported possible gunfire in or near the residence,” the release said. “Witnesses stated that unknown individuals in a vehicle stopped in the roadway, discharged a weapon in an unknown direction, and fled the scene.”

Deputies dispersed the crowd and searched the area for any threats. While no injuries were reported, additional callers said an “unidentified subject” had been seen walking through a nearby yard with a long gun.

So authorities established a perimeter, and the Fairview Police Department responded to help. The Texas Department of Public Safety also sent aerial support to search for the suspect.

Despite a coordinated response, no suspects were located,” the release said. “The incident remains under investigation. At this time, there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.”

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information to contact investigators at 972-547-5350.
