The National Weather Service in Fort Worth is expecting chilly weather to welcome in the holiday season. This cool weather will be paired with some chances for rain.
Portions of North Texas saw some precipitation to start this week ahead of a cold front. The NWS predicts that this front will bring dry but chilly conditions throughout the remainder of the week and into the weekend, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.
Weather experts expect these conditions to continue through November 22 with “seasonably cool” temperatures in the 60s and clear skies. Thanksgiving Day, however, will bring some chances for precipitation.
“A few sprinkles are possible during the afternoon hours on Thanksgiving,” said the NWS on its website. “Any rain will be light and brief, and will not interrupt outdoor plans. Otherwise, pleasant weather is forecast with high temperatures in the 60s and light south winds.”
Chances for sprinkles will persist mainly within the counties in the southern and southeastern portions of the metroplex.
November 24 and 25 will see cold fronts arriving on both days, which will bring a more widespread chance for rain across the region. Weather officials advise that these fronts may bring scattered showers across the region between the overnight hours of November 25 into the morning hours of November 26.
Still, the greatest chances for precipitation are expected to be east of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
Temperatures throughout the weekend will remain in the low 60s and will drop to the 50s early next week. Chances for rain are expected to continue through the week, starting with a 20% chance on November 27.
