A Denton County man faces charges after allegedly removing a body from a cemetery.

Bartonville Police Department investigators received a credible tip that Michael Chadwick Fry had “unlawfully removed and abused human remains taken from a local cemetery.” The department provided no further details.

On Wednesday, the investigators, with help from FBI special agents and task force officers, served a warrant in the 500 block of Oakwood Drive in Bartonville and arrested Fry. He has been charged with abuse of a corpse.

Bartonville police said the investigation is ongoing.

Denton County court records show Fry has more than two dozen prior arrests dating back to 2003. Those include assault, bodily injury, disorderly conduct, possession of alcohol by a minor – public intoxication, burglary of a habitation, theft of property, terroristic threat, driving while license invalid, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.

In a separate 2018 incident, Fry was arrested after repeatedly slamming a rented pickup truck into the downtown Dallas Fox affiliate’s building while the morning newscast was airing live. Police said he also scattered thousands of printed pages on the ground containing random words and phrases, including “high treason” and “witchery.”
The documents were copies of news reports from a 2012 Denton County Sheriff’s deputies incident in which a driver rammed a patrol vehicle and was fatally shot; Fry was the passenger in the suspect’s car at the time.
No injuries were reported in the 2018 crash, and Fry was charged with criminal mischief.
