(Texas Scorecard) – Catholic Charities of Fort Worth has filed a lawsuit against the federal government following its pause on funding for organizations that provide services to illegal aliens.

On January 20, President Donald Trump signed an executive order suspending the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program. It took effect on January 27. However, a federal judge temporarily blocked Trump’s order on February 25.

In alignment with national security goals and other priorities, the Trump administration issued a memo on January 27 mandating that federal agencies identify and review all financial assistance programs.

It reads, in part, that “Federal agencies must temporarily pause all activities related to obligation or disbursement of all Federal financial assistance, and other relevant agency activities that may be implicated by the executive orders, including, but not limited to, financial assistance for foreign aid, nongovernmental organizations, DEI, woke gender ideology, and the green new deal.”

In response, Catholic Charities of Fort Worth filed a lawsuit on Monday against both the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

The organization reportedly has not had access to $36 million in refugee resettlement funds. Catholic Charities of Fort Worth has operated as the state’s Office for Refugee Resettlement since 2021. Consequently, it was forced to lay off staff members across Texas and cut various programs.

Catholic Charities of Fort Worth has been accused of enabling illegal aliens throughout the state. Reports have also indicated that it worked in tandem with Fort Worth Independent School District to bring illegal aliens into the school district.

Tarrant County GOP Chairman Bo French has been outspoken against Catholic Charities for months.

“Since we exposed Catholic Charities of Fort Worth last year, there have been a whole host of denials, PR meetings and attacks on what I said,” French told Texas Scorecard.

But now we have confirmation from the Trump Administration, that CCFW, along with many other NGOs just like them, were the conduit through which the Biden administration was funneling hundreds of billions of dollars to fund the invasion of illegal aliens into the United States.

French asserted that while accountability is on the horizon, the enemies of the United States will not back down without a fight.

“I expect to see more of these lawsuits, but I don’t expect them to be successful,” he continued. “Taxpayers demand accountability from our government. These lawsuits are desperate and will only result in delays for the reckoning that is coming.”
