If you reel in a monster bass or help your kid pull in their very first catfish this Independence Day weekend, The Dallas Express wants to help you with your bragging rights.
We’re putting together a roundup of the best Fourth of July fishing photos from across Texas — and we’d love to feature YOU.
Whether you are out on a boat in Lake Ray Roberts, casting from the banks of the Trinity, or dropping a line off the Gulf Coast, send us a picture of your prize catches and smiling faces.
The deadline to submit is Monday, July 7, 2025, by 12:00 p.m.
Photos can be emailed to [email protected].
Make sure to include the following with your photo:
-
Type of fish
-
Weight of the fish (or best guess!)
-
Location of the catch
- Name(s) and age(s) of the fisherman or fishermen. If a minor is included in the image, a parent or legal guardian must confirm in the email that they have granted permission for the minor’s image to be shared.
-
Hometown
-
Who took the photo (so we can credit them appropriately)
-
And anything else you think we should know — was it someone’s first fish, a family tradition, or the one that almost got away?
Bonus points for patriotic gear, matching shirts, or anything that screams Texas summer. And don’t worry — even if the fish was SMALL, but the moment was BIG, we still want to see it.
Your submissions might be featured on The Dallas Express website as part of a special holiday fishing photo gallery.
Texas has approximately 7,ooo lakes, 3,500 miles of shoreline, and countless other bodies of water. The Lone Star State also has 174 species of fish, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
So bait the hook, cast the line, and hit “send.” We can’t wait to see your catch of the day!
