Multiple people have been injured after a possible gas explosion ripped through the bottom floors of a hotel in Fort Worth’s downtown area.

The incident occurred at the Sandman Signature Fort Worth at 810 Houston St., where first responders are currently on the scene. As many as 11 people have been injured, one in critical condition and two in serious condition, at the blast site, according to the Fort Worth Fire Department, CBS News Texas reported.

Photos of the explosion’s aftermath have been posted on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, by the news outlet DFW Scanner.

The photos indicate that the building sustained significant damage, with debris scattered around the area.

According to DFW Scanner, the explosion happened around 3:30 p.m. The Fort Worth Police Department is advising people to avoid the area. An investigation is ongoing.
