A local bridal boutique is selling affordable dresses for a good cause.

Alisa Joy Bridal Boutique in Frisco donates 100% of its profit to two organizations helping women in the Dallas – Fort Worth area who have been trafficked and exploited.

The boutique has hundreds of dresses in a wide range of styles and sizes, all of which are 50% to 80% off the original retail price. The dresses are donated to Alisa Joy by for-profit boutiques across the country.

The boutique was founded in November of 2023 and is inspired by the work of two North Texas women: Alisa Evans and Tiffani Joy Price.

Alisa Evans founded Alive at Last in 2014 to help North Texas victims of trafficking in their healing journey. Evans was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and passed away the same year.

Tiffani Joy Price is a trafficking survivor and runs GloryB, a nonprofit helping those 17 years or older suffering from acute trauma caused by trafficking and ritual abuse.

The Alisa Joy Foundation was named in honor of both women, with the goal of educating people about trafficking and helping those who have been trafficked. All proceeds from the Alisa Joy Foundation are split between Alive at Last and GloryB.

“The experience is very intimate,” said Sherri Jacob, owner and director of Alisa Joy, per CBS. “One couple came in because the bride had been in an abusive relationship, and it was special for her to buy a dress that would help support another woman get out of a difficult situation.”

All of the dresses are sold under $1,000, while most bridal gowns sold in retail shops can cost three to four times that amount.

“I hope each dress has a great story, not only for the bride who might purchase it, but the funds that come from that — you think, what women can that impact in the future too,” Jacob said.

Jacob told CBS that women drive from all around Texas to purchase a dress from her boutique.

The boutique operates by appointment only and is run entirely by volunteers. Since its opening, the boutique has sold nearly 60 dresses.
