Two people were killed, and three others were hospitalized after a shooting at a shopping center in Carrollton’s Koreatown area on Tuesday morning, police said.

Authorities responded just before 10 a.m. to reports of gunfire at K Towne Plaza in the 4000 block of Highway 121 at Hebron Parkway, according to Carrollton Police Chief Roberto Arredondo.

When officers arrived, they found five victims. Two were pronounced dead at the scene, while three others were taken to hospitals with injuries. Their conditions were not immediately known, and their identities have not been released.

Police said the suspect, identified as 69-year-old Seung Han Ho, was taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit. Investigators said undercover officers located his vehicle and attempted to make contact before the chase began. He was arrested near 2625 Old Denton Road. Charges have not yet been announced.

Arredondo said the shooting stemmed from what appeared to be a business meeting and emphasized that it was not a random act.

“We don’t know exactly what the meeting was about, but we understand it to be a business relation,” he said, per the Associated Press.

Video from the scene showed a large law enforcement presence, including local police and state authorities, as officers moved through the shopping center with weapons drawn. Federal agents were also present.

The investigation remains ongoing.
