Authorities have identified 24-year-old Terrence Wayne Demus, Jr. as the man found fatally shot during the early morning of January 23 within a DeSoto apartment.
Officers from the DeSoto Police Department were called to the scene (within the 200 block of East Wintergreen Road) shortly after 1 a.m.
Detectives discovered evidence of an exchange of gunfire and concluded that the suspected shooter was injured during the incident.
The detectives pursued leads and obtained a warrant for the suspect, 19-year-old Julian Jones, who was treated for gunshot wounds at a local hospital.
Jones is now facing a charge of first-degree murder and being held on a $1,000,000 bond.
