Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick tested positive for COVID-19 and is experiencing “mild symptoms,” his office announced on Sunday.

The lieutenant governor is fully vaccinated and received a booster shot in the fall. He will work from home this week while isolating and “following appropriate protocols,” according to the press release.

It is the second time Patrick has tested positive for COVID-19, previously being diagnosed with the virus in January. He also experienced only mild symptoms at that time.

Patrick is running for reelection in November, facing Democratic candidate Mike Collier. Patrick was first elected in 2014 and re-elected in 2018.
