Local Woman Arrested after Allegedly Beating Man to Death with Stick

A woman in central Fort Worth is facing murder charges following an assault in which she is accused of fatally beating a man with a stick on February 21.

Police responded to a disturbance call around 4:30 p.m. in the 1200 Block of East Daggett Avenue, where they discovered a man with serious injuries who had apparently been assaulted.

The suspect, who police determined to be 27-year-old Angelica Boone, was arrested at the scene.

The victim, identified as 66-year-old Donald Wayne Cheeks, was transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Per The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, a police spokesperson said that the victim “had been assaulted with a large stick.” Further details regarding the man’s injuries have not been released.

An investigation remains ongoing.
