Do you have the guts to survive a zombie apocalypse?

On Sept. 18, you will have your chance to survive the zombie horde in Mesquite’s Guts & Gory Zombie Run & Challenge at Camp Rorie Galloway.

“Human” participants will race through the Camp Rorie woods with their team, compete in challenges, and try to outwit and survive the zombies. The course is filled with obstacles and missions to test your strength, speed, problem-solving, and teamwork. All of which must be done while avoiding the zombies.

If outwitting zombies is not your game, you can go to the “dark side” and wear your best zombie attire and prevent the “humans” from escaping the zombie apocalypse. Zombies will roam the course and chase race participants trying to pull the runner’s flags as they move through the Zombie Zone.

Registration is $30 per runner, while zombies are free. Runners will be placed in a flight of eight members. Teams are encouraged to register, or individuals can be matched with a flight. Participants must be at least 13 years of age.

For more information, registration, and instructions on the required Zombie School, visit the Mesquite website for details.

Organizers warn that the run is “not for the faint of heart and maybe too intense for some participants. The challenge run will feature a form of live entertainment that simulates the experience of escaping a zombie apocalypse. If you scare easily or are disturbed by mild images of gore, this run may not be for you.”
