Cowtown is trading in “moos” for “boos,” with an array of events in store for Halloween sure to bewitch residents and visitors alike.

As previously reported in The Dallas Express, Texans are spoiled for choice this fall. Several beer and wine festivals and more are slated for the coming weeks.

While a good number of this season’s happenings guarantee a spooky ambiance, rest assured that only treats will be in store for attendees.

Here’s a look at what Halloween-themed events are going on in Fort Worth this month.

Cutting Edge Haunted House in Fort Worth
October 14-15, 21-23, 27-31; November 5

What’s Halloween without a tour of a haunted house? Cutting Edge Haunted House offers nearly an hour of hair-raising terror inside this multistory attraction built within an abandoned meat packing plant.

Live actors and special effects help make this immersive experience alongside monsters and butchered corpses even more realistic, dialing up the intensity. Tickets start at $44.95 and are going fast.

Hangman’s House of Horrors
Through October 31

Celebrating its 35th season, Hangman’s House of Horrors was set up in a historic helium production plant and military base.

The attraction centers around local legends, such as that of Hezekiah Jones, also known as the Hangman. He was said to have killed 120 people one Halloween in 1882, stalking his victims along the banks of the Trinity River and hanging them from a blood-stained rope.

General admission tickets start at $34.

Also check out the new immersive art exhibit The Beauty of Horror, where guests can take photos in horror-based sets.

Boo at the Zoo
October 27-29

Embarking on its 32nd year, Boo at the Zoo has become a cherished Halloween tradition in the metroplex. The Fort Worth Zoo is opening its doors to members or general admission ticketholders to take part in this three-day event for free.

The zoo’s 7,000 animals will be on display, while a series of Halloween-themed shows will be held at different areas of the 64-acre venue. These include the Magical Monster Mash, the Bubble Wizard, the Haunted Mystery Zookeeper Animal Stage Show, and Renfield the Bat.

Other activities on offer include a hay maze, art projects, dancing to Razzmajazz, and taking a ride on the Bone Rattler Express for $4.

Guests will also be able to go trick-or-treating from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with treat stations offering four pieces of candy per treat coupon. While six coupons will be handed out per person for free, an additional six will cost $3.

Although guests are encouraged to dress up, those aged 13 and older are asked to keep their faces visible and identifiable for safety reasons.

Rooftop Cinema Club
Through October 31

A cinematic treat under the stars is on offer at the Renaissance Worthington Hotel. Rooftop Cinema Club is offering special screenings of beloved horror and Halloween-themed movies like Scream, Hocus Pocus, Halloween, and The Nightmare Before Christmas through Halloween.

Ticket prices vary depending on whether you choose a single Adirondack chair for $19.50 or add popcorn for a total of $26.50. Couples can snuggle up during scary scenes on an Adirondack loveseat with popcorn for $26.50.

This cinematic journey on the rooftop terrace aligns perfectly with the eerie aura of the Halloween season. Don’t forget to come early to not only get your preferred seat but also enjoy the picturesque sunset, join in on some entertaining lawn games such as corn hole and giant Jenga, and indulge in some snacks from the concession stand.

Treat Street Stockyards Spooktacular Halloween Festival
October 31

From 5-7 p.m., admission is free to the spooky activities planned at the Fort Worth Stockyards.

Children aged 12 and under wearing costumes are invited to grab some candy from participating retailers along Mule Alley and near Stockyards Station. Look for a pumpkin in the window.

Guests can also take part in free face painting, hay rides, a costume contest, and a Halloween-themed shootout show.
