If you are a car enthusiast or simply captivated by the magic of four-wheelers, you are in for a treat.

The Global Hot Wheels Legends Tour is making a high-octane stop in Dallas on September 9, promising an unforgettable experience for toy fans and custom car enthusiasts alike.

The action will run next Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Walmart Supercenter in North Richland Hills. Best of all? Admission is free, making it accessible for families and fans of all ages.

Registration is still open for the event for anyone who happens to have a custom vehicle worthy of making the lineup. Upload some photos here to enter.

This is the sixth installment of the annual tour, which began in May and is slated to visit 17 countries, including Australia, the Philippines, Brazil, and Spain.

“More than 10,000 incredible cars were entered in last year’s Hot Wheels Legends Tour, and this year we’re expecting even more as the Tour continues to grow. Not only are there more countries participating, but we expect each city to bring even more custom builds this year, making 2023 the most competitive Legends Tour yet,” said Ted Wu, Mattel’s vice president and global head of design, according to Auto Blog.

Custom car builders near each stop on the tour have the chance to see their designs morph into the next die-cast Hot Wheels toy.

A team of judges will evaluate the entries for creativity, authenticity, and garage spirit.

What does that last one mean, exactly?

“We’re looking to see some elbow grease that exemplifies the challenger spirit it took to build,” reads the Hot Wheels Legends website.

The winner of each show can later compete in the global semifinals, where the competition is intense and the stakes are high.

Last year a 1992 Autozam Scrum nicknamed Texas Toot, created by Craig Meaux of Beaumont, was selected as the winner. The entry beat out nine other finalists, including a dragster based on a 1978 Porsche from a hobbyist in Dallas and an iconic Volkswagen Beetle outfitted with a turbocharged engine from a Volvo V70 by a father-son team from Atlanta.

“I wasn’t expecting to win, so this is a dream come true. I wanted to create something that no one else had. I didn’t have previous experience with this sort of fabrication, so it’s awesome that it came out the way it did and to have everybody enjoy the truck,” Meaux said at the time, according to Auto Blog.

The event on September 9 will also be a full-blown carnival for fans. There will be plenty to see with over 100 unique vehicles on display, including iconic cars from the Hot Wheels Garage of Legends.

Kid-friendly activities will also be on offer, such as a Power Wheels racing track, RC Races, and play spaces with the latest Hot Wheel toys.
