This year for Valentine’s Day, people looking for a sweet treat can run by Dunkin’ Donuts for a special array of seasonal offerings.

The donut and coffee giant provided The Dallas Express (DX) with samples in order to get a taste of what will be on the menu.

One of the featured items is the Brownie Batter Signature Latte, “inspired by the beloved Brownie Batter Donut,” according to an info sheet provided by Dunkin’.

The beverage “combines rich espresso with brownie batter flavor, and is topped with whipped cream, a mocha drizzle, and festive sprinkles,” Dunkin’ explained.

Laura Irizarry, DX’s senior digital publisher, described the drink, saying, “It’s giving great, great taste.” She went on to say that it had a “very decadent brownie flavor with the perfect amount of coffee taste.”

In a similar vein, a heart-shaped Brownie Battered Donut has also made an appearance in time for the holiday. Dipped in chocolate, topped with sprinkles, and anchored by a buttercream filling, the donut is a highlight of the menu.

“Wow,” senior staff writer Jonathan Richie reacted to the treat. “It’s very rich, and the buttercream filling really resonates. It’s like licking the spoon while making a chocolate cake.”

Another heart-shaped confection is the Cupid’s Choice Donut, which replaces the chocolate buttercream filling with “Bavarian Kreme” and is covered with strawberry icing.

“It was awesome!” Chief Development Officer Tony Smercina said, calling it “beautiful” and “everything a donut should be.”

Other featured Valentine’s Day items included the Cocoa Mocha Signature Latte. Staff writer Noah DeGarmo described it as tasting “like a great mix of cocoa and mocha flavors,” balanced by “an appropriate amount of ice.”

For lovers of lighter delights, another drink, the Strawberry Dragonfruit Dunkin’ Refresher, seeks to bring “a perfectly pretty-in-pink drink to the menu.”

Richie tried this beverage and noted, “it tastes just like those heart-shaped lollipops that you used to get when you were a kid at school.”

If you’re looking to enjoy a sweet treat for Valentine’s Day without having to fight for a reservation, Dunkin’ might have something for you.
