The Family Place, a non-profit for domestic abuse survivors, is conducting its yearly Partner Card fundraiser from October 28 to November 6.

Partner Cards cost $75 — the amount necessary to support a victim of domestic abuse for one night of safety.

Partner Cards quickly pay for themselves. Over 700 locations in the DFW area collaborate with the Partner Card program and offer steep discounts on goods and services: 10% savings at participating restaurants and 20% at retailers.

The businesses participating in the Partner Card program offer a wide arrange of products. A simple donation can save money on everything from handymen to hand lotion.

To promote the Partner Card fundraisers, The Family Place will host exclusive events such as Pearl Card Preview at Gardenuity on October 25, An Evening of Fashion at the Meison Showroom on October 27, and Partners Card Preview Luncheon at Eataly on October 28.

Partner Cards first originated in 1993 and have since raised over $20 million for victims of domestic violence.

The funds provide victims access to emergency shelters, a 24-hour crisis hotline, youth education, job, and financial training, transitional housing, and counseling services.

The Family Place hopes that through yearly donations and targeted programs, families are able to break the cycle of abuse.

To celebrate the 30-year anniversary of the Partners Card, The Family Place is debuting a limited-edition Pearl Card.

The Pearl Card costs $500 and supports a victim of intimate partner violence for one week at The Family Place shelter.

Moreover, the Pearl Card offers first-class perks such as a year of free valet at NorthPark Center, discount Pilates, free Botox injections, and much more.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. While the fundraiser lasts, purchase a partner card from the Family Place to help victims of intimate partner violence.

A simple purchase allows members to take advantage of savings before the holiday season.

If you are unable to make a donation, consider volunteering at The Family Place or learn to recognize the signs of intimate partner abuse. With simple actions, you can be a lifeline to those in need.

If you or someone you know is a victim of intimate partner abuse, reach out to The Family Place on their 24-hour crisis hotline at (214) 941-1991 or on their website at www.familyplace.org
