Lovers of Broadway musicals residing in the metroplex have much to look forward to over the coming months.

Touring Broadway productions are slated to run in Dallas and Fort Worth from this month through early February. Whether you’re a fan of classics like Les Misérables or are drawn in by the foot-tapping beats of jukebox musicals like Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, there will be something for you.

Here is a rundown of the musicals coming to the metroplex by venue.

Broadway at the Center

Winspear Opera House, 2403 Flora St., Dallas

The first production set to take the stage at Broadway at the Center features a female pop icon: Cher.

The Cher Show took home two Tony awards when it debuted in 2018 despite running for just eight months. This supersized musical featuring 35 songs tells the story of the legendary pop idol Cher, who is played by three different performing artists.

Whether you have a penchant for Cher during her “Sonny” phase or love being dazzled by her glammed-out persona from her later years, this is the show for you.

Performances of The Cher Show will be held at 8 p.m. on December 14-16, with a matinee on its final day at 2 p.m.

Next comes music from a Canadian singer-songwriter who defined an era. Jagged Little Pill tackles themes of love, illicit drug use, sexuality, and race through the telling of the story of a complicated family in Connecticut.

The production, which has been nominated for 15 Tony awards, features Alanis Morissette’s iconic 1995 album of the same name. It will run on January 12-14 at 8 p.m. and on January 13-14 at 2 p.m.
