Seven Free Upcoming Holiday Events

There are seven free events coming up in the Dallas area for families to enjoy this holiday season.

December 3, the New Texas Symphony Orchestra will be performing holiday music at NorthPark Mall. The performance is from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. and the location is 8687 North Central Expressway. The orchestra will also be performing at Redbird Mall at 3662 West Camp Wisdom Road on Saturday, December 4 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m.

The Dallas Holiday Parade is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. on December 4. The parade will start at Commerce and Houston Streets by The Adolphus Hotel, which is located at 1321 Commerce Street. The parade is free for the public, unless an individual would like to purchase a ticket to sit on the bleachers. Depending on the location of the bleachers, tickets are either twenty-five dollars or fifty dollars. Click here to purchase bleacher seating.

December 4, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m., the Tree Lighting Celebration will be taking place at Klyde Warren Park. The park is located at 1909 Woodall Rodgers Freeway. At this event there will be photo opportunities with Santa, story time with Mrs. Claus, appearances from Frosty and Rudolph, and dancers from The Dallas Conservatory will be performing The Nutcracker Suite’s second act.

Also December 4, Turtle Creek Chorale is scheduled to perform in front of Tiffany and Co., located on level 1 of Galleria Dallas. The address to Galleria Dallas is 13350 Dallas Parkway. The group of more than two-hundred members will be performing from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

At Sammons Park, located at 2403 Flora Street, a holiday concert will be held on December 4. From 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m., tribute bands for Arena Rock and Selena will be entertaining. There will also be crafts for children, Santa, and holiday lights.

On December 8, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., the Christmas Lights Celebration will be taking place at Highland Park Village. The location is 47 Highland Park Village. This event plans on having store discounts for holiday shoppers and a Toy Drive. Photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be located under the village theatre marquee. Face paintings and a balloon artist will be at the center court, along with The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary. From 6:00pm until 7:00pm, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Young Strings will be performing by the Valet Breezeway.

St. John’s Episcopal Church, located at 848 Harter Road, will be celebrating a Festival of Lessons and Carols. On December 12, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., the nativity story will be told and guests or members can enjoy listening to the children’s and adult choirs.
