If you’re a fan of the Great Gatsby era, you may be interested in visiting a new “prohibition experience” speakeasy in The Colony.

Red Phone Booth is a themed cigar and cocktail bar coming to DFW at the Grotto at Grandscape.

But this venue doesn’t look like your average bar. The best part about this prohibition-themed experience is that it is a secretive speakeasy disguised as a red London phone booth. Guests will need the secret phone number from a local restaurant, hotel, or member to dial into the restored antique phone booth and gain entry to the exclusive bar.

Owner and founder Stephen de Haan told WFAA, “We have always enjoyed the greater DFW area and we’re excited to expand the Red Phone Booth brand to now include The Colony, TX.”

The Red Phone Booth started in Atlanta but has since branched out with locations in Miami and Nashville. The Colony location — a 6,000-square-foot venue — will offer customers an opportunity to enjoy over 220 different cigar options.

Don’t worry about being overtaken by smoke. The speakeasy will be equipped with air purifiers that clean the air every three minutes and a 100% fresh outdoor air system, according to What Now DFW.

The decor will recreate the ambience of the “Roaring Twenties” with Italian leather couches lined against brick walls and glowing ceilings.

“We were introduced to Grandscape by family and upon visiting the incredible mix of shopping, dining and nightlife, we realized the Red Phone Booth would be the perfect complement for adults looking for a unique Prohibition experience where they can enjoy award-winning cocktails while focusing on conversation among friends and colleagues,” said de Haan.

The speakeasy will be open to the public beginning March 3, 2022, at 9 p.m.

The cocktail menu includes tequila, rare whiskey, including Japanese whiskey, scotch, and bourbon. The most popular cocktails are the Old Fashioned, Boulevardier, or a house cocktail smoked with hickory or mesquite wood chips. While enjoying a novelty drink, customers can order quick bites like fresh seafood, a variety of Neapolitan pizzas, and Insalata di Bistecca, or steak salad.

While members of the bar can get in a bit easier than everyone else, this bar is an experience customers cannot get anywhere else by taking them back to yesteryear to share a good drink and a good time. Management will be hosting open house tours from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. starting February 20 through February 25. These will be followed by invite-only grand opening parties on March 2-4 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
