The annual Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo kicks off in the new year, and its organizers expect the parade to break records.
The All-Western Parade will include an estimated 3,000 horses, up from 2,800 in 2023, reported NBC 5 DFW. The parade starts at the Tarrant County Courthouse on Main Street in Downtown Fort Worth on January 13 at 11 a.m.
The entire Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo (FWSSR) runs for 23 days, between January 12 and February 3. It will include the “Best of the West” Ranch Rodeo, Best of Mexico Celebración, Cowboys of Color Rodeo, Bulls’ Night Out – PRCA Extreme Bull Riding, Texas Champions Challenge, the FWSSR PRORODEO Tournament, and much more, according to the event’s website. You will also find live music, carnival midway, shopping, and food.
“The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo All Western Parade is really a sight to behold with a wonderful cross-section of Western tradition combined with a celebration of the city’s strong Charro and Escaramuza culture,” said Phillip Schutts, co-chairman of the parade, per NBC 5. “The TCU marching band always kicks off the parade with lots of energy and we’re especially excited to honor law enforcement for all they do to protect our state and community.”
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Posse Reserves will be among the law enforcement agencies recognized at the parade. They will join other mounted law enforcement units, like the U.S. Border Patrol Rio Grande and Laredo sectors, the Texas Department of Public Safety Capital Police, the Midland County Sheriff’s Department, and others.
While the parade is free, reserved seating is available for $20 at Sundance Square Plaza. Alternatively, you can reserve $12 seats in front of the Convention Center. Ticket purchases must be made ahead of time on the FWSSR website or by calling 817-502-0011.
