Prime Video will release “House of David” on February 27, 2025. The series will present the historical account of King David, focusing on his rise from a shepherd to the ruler of Israel.
The series will follow David’s life as he navigates political conflicts, battles, and leadership challenges. It will depict key events, such as his victory over Goliath, conflicts with King Saul, and his path to the throne.
The production aims to present a historically grounded interpretation of the biblical account.
Producers selected Michael Iskander for the role of David after an international search.

The production companies involved include Amazon MGM Studios, Wonder Project, Nomadic Pictures, Argonauts, Kingdom Story Company, and Lionsgate Television.
The series is being developed as part of Amazon’s expansion into historical and religious-themed content.
Prime Video will release the first three episodes on February 27, 2025. The remaining episodes will follow a weekly release schedule, concluding on April 3, 2025.
Producers have compared the series’ scale to major historical dramas. The story will follow real events from biblical history, integrating ancient Israel’s cultural and political dynamics.
