Dallas CASA’s annual Parade of Playhouses will be presented in NorthPark Center again this summer. Child abuse and neglect victims served by the non-profit social service agency will benefit from the event’s proceeds and awareness-building efforts. NorthPark Center has hosted the site for this special celebration since 1996.

Presented by Crest Cadillac/INFINITI/Volvo, the event features custom-designed and built playhouses available to win by raffle. All proceeds from raffle ticket sales benefit children living in the protective care of the state.

While they will not exactly prance, the playhouses donated by local designers, organizations, and builders will grace NorthPark Center hallways in July. Various builders and architects created this year’s thirteen playhouses for the Dallas CASA event. Some returning builders are LRO ResidentialCrest Cadillac/INFINITI/Volvo, and Amy Butscher with Butscher Construction.

This year’s designs include a playhouse inspired by Highland Park High School’s MAPS class, a windmill, a LEGO blocks house, a Mars spaceship, and a lighthouse. Visit the Parade of Playhouses Gallery for a view of past playhouse designs.

Dallas CASA volunteers will be on hand at NorthPark Center Mall to sell tickets and answer questions about how to help children who have been abused or neglected and are in the care of protective social services agencies.

Raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20 at DallasCASA.org during the event for the chance to win a playhouse.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) volunteers in Dallas are taught and supervised by Dallas CASA staff to represent the interests of children who have been removed from unsafe homes. With professional staff help, volunteers gather information and make recommendations for judges to help them determine the services each child needs to heal from trauma and the best possible outcome for a safe and permanent home.

Playhouses can be viewed from July 15 to July 31, 2022, at NorthPark Center, located at 8687 N. Central Expressway in Dallas.
