The delayed Peppa Pig Theme Park coming to North Texas has been given a new official opening date.
As previously reported in The Dallas Express, the theme park, based on the popular children’s series, was initially supposed to open in North Richland Hills just in time for Peppa’s 20th anniversary this year. Now, a spokesperson for the park says Peppa Pig Theme Park Dallas-Fort Worth will open its doors on March 1, 2025.
The North Richland Hills location will be the second Peppa Pig Theme Park in the country, with the first located in Winter Haven, Florida. While the park does not open until next year, “exclusive first-to-play tickets” will be available for sale from November 12 through 18 by signing up for the Peppa Pig Theme Park newsletter. General admission tickets will be available for purchase on November 19.
The new park will feature numerous rides, such as Peppa Pig’s Balloon Ride, interactive attractions, shows, and themed playscapes. It is being built by Hasbro and British entertainment company Merlin Entertainments, which owns a portfolio of over 140 global attractions, including Legoland.
Peppa Pig is a hugely successful show, aired in 180 countries in 40 languages. The new park will sit on 14 acres of land along Texas 26, near Tarrant County College’s Northeast Campus, the former location of Mountasia Family Fun Center.
Once opened, Peppa Pig Theme Park will employ 100 full and part-time workers. Job opportunities are expected to be listed on Merlin’s website once they become available.
Craig Hulse, North Richland Hills Economic Development Director, says the park is one of the biggest projects ever undertaken in the city’s history.
“It’s a huge score for our city, but a huge score for our region. … There has been high interest from some hospitality and services like restaurants or retail. Imagine a staycation or a family wanting to stay in the Metroplex,” Hulse said, per WFAA.
