Mother’s Day this year falls on Sunday, May 14. Here are a few suggestions for those who have not yet decided how to celebrate Mom this weekend.

Shop & Sip:

Mom can shop to her heart’s content at the Shop & Sip: Mother’s Day Celebration at The Shops at Park Lane on Saturday.

“Sip stations” will be available throughout the mall, featuring wine, beer, and cocktails by Bubble Bus Co. The event will also feature live art painting, live music, and a custom cookie photobooth station by Plush. What gift could be sweeter than a cookie adorned with a picture of your face?

The festivities take place from 2-6 p.m. between the CAVA and Starbucks shops.

Better Than Breakfast in Bed:

STIRR, a high-energy modern American restaurant and bar with locations in Dallas and Addison, is offering a Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet on Sunday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The offerings include “a carving station, custom omelette station, spring salad selection, and specialty dessert station.”

Mom can also get a complimentary mini floral bouquet at the Vases + Vines pop-up that will be on site from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

The buffet costs $44 per person, $15 for kids 10-15, and is free for children under 10. Be sure to call ahead for reservations.

An Event to Remember:

The Hughes Family Tribute Center in Dallas is offering a free Mother’s Day Open House and Butterfly Release on Sunday from 4-5:30 p.m. The event is intended to “honor and remember mothers or children who have passed on, but their love remains.”

The remembrance event, which includes light refreshments, begins at 4 p.m. with a live musical performance by Alebrije and culminates with the butterfly release at 5:15 p.m.

Thanks, Mom:

Say “Thanks, Mom” by taking your mother to Gracias Mama: A Mother’s Day Concert at the Arlington Music Hall on Sunday. Javier Aguilar, an “ambassador of Mexican Mariachi Music,” and his band will pay tribute to mothers with “the best classical repertoire for the occasion.”

The 6-8 p.m. concert also includes a special performance by the SIMA Ballet Folklorico. For more information and tickets, click here.

The Gift of Cirque:

Flowers, candy, and perfume are great, but for those looking to put a new twist on their Mother’s Day gift-giving, how about tickets to a night of magic and wonder at the Cirque du Soleil Corteo?

The show, which features baroque circus acts, lavish costumes, elaborate sets, and original music, opens Wednesday, May 17, and runs through Sunday, May 21, at the Comerica Center in Frisco.

Now through May 15, Cirque du Soleil is offering a special Mother’s Day family deal on tickets, with four tickets for the price of three.
