With July being National Ice Cream Month, Blue Bell Creameries, the Texas-based ice cream giant, is launching a new “monstrous” flavor for ice cream lovers.
Blue Bell’s latest concoction is called Monster Cookie Dough, a mix of peanut butter monster cookie dough pieces, candy-coated chocolate bits, and dark chocolate chunks blended into vanilla ice cream that has been delicately infused with hints of brown sugar.
“If you have not heard of a monster cookie, it typically combines many of your favorite ingredients from other cookies,” explained Sara Schramm, Blue Bell’s brand manager, in a July 6 news release.
“And, many monster cookies are rather large because of all the goodies packed in one treat,” Schramm added. “The dough pieces in our Monster Cookie Dough Ice Cream have the same delicious ingredients you find in the cookie.”
This isn’t the only new ice cream flavor added to Blue Bell’s portfolio of late.
As reported by The Dallas Express in May, the company joined forces with another iconic Lone Star brand to create Dr Pepper Float. It entails creamy vanilla ice cream swirled with Dr Pepper-flavored sherbet.
This addition was followed by the release of another new flavor in June called the Java Jolt. As you might have gleaned from the name, this ice cream flavor swirls coffee ice cream with coffee fudge and throws in some dark chocolate chunks for good measure.
“Our Coffee Ice Cream is a fan-favorite, so it is the perfect base for our new Java Jolt,” explained Joe Robertson, Blue Bell’s executive director of advertising and marketing, in a June 8 news release.
With these new additions, ice cream lovers should have no trouble finding a multitude of ways to ring in National Ice Cream Month. Celebrated since 1984, the initiative signed into law by President Ronald Reagan also designated the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day.
This year National Ice Cream Day will fall on July 17 — be sure to plan accordingly!
For those eager to try Blue Bell’s Monster Cookie Dough, it can now be purchased in half-gallon and pint sizes. But act fast because the flavor is only available until the end of the month.
