Plano is set to open five new dine-in locations before the end of the year, with the first having opened this past weekend.

Renowned for its annual hot-air balloon festival, the Dallas suburb is also home to some of the tastiest restaurants in the metroplex.

Los Angeles-based dessert chain The Dolly Llama Waffle Master just celebrated the grand opening of its newest restaurant location at 8400 Preston Rd., Ste. 150, Community Impact reported.

The grand opening will mark the dessert chain’s second dine-in location in Dallas-Fort Worth; the other is in Dallas at 2817 Howell St.

Next up on the list is Zaap Kitchen Lao & Thai Street Eats, which already has several restaurant locations scattered around DFW. Now the restaurant chain wants to open up a sixth location in June at 5976 W. Parker Rd., Ste. 304, according to a spokesperson for the company.

Zaap Kitchen Lao & Thai Street Eats will occupy a former T-Mobile store and will serve a variety of Laotian cuisine, including curry, noodles, stir-fry, and desserts, per Community Impact.

The third and fourth restaurants heading to Plano include Rise Soufflé and Cotton & Snow, both scheduled to open up this summer.

Rise Soufflé specializes in serving a mix of savory and sweet souffles as well as other French dishes. The restaurant will open once construction on the existing property — formerly a TGI Fridays — is completed. Rise Soufflé will be located at 2444 Preston Rd., Ste. 100.

Nashville-based Cotton & Snow serves shaved ice and more than 50 flavors of cotton candy and ice cream. With Texas’ wicked hot summer season kicking into full gear, a shaved ice shop might be the place to go in order to escape the grueling summer heat. According to a news release from the company, Cotton & Snow will open in Plano’s Legacy Food Hall at 7800 Windrose Ave.

The final restaurant with a scheduled opening in Plano is Everbowl, a unique chain specializing in acai bowls, superfood smoothies, and coffee. According to owner Isaac Mathai, the restaurant chain will open its newest location in September at 5809 Preston Rd., Ste. 584.
